Tama 2026 news
New from TAMA for 2026 – an overview and what it means in practice
For 2026, TAMA is introducing a broad range of new products covering drum kits, snare drums, pedals, hardware, and accessories. The lineup includes a mix of limited editions, new finishes, and carefully considered updates to existing series. Rather than cosmetic changes, the focus this year is clearly on materials, playability, and practical use for different types of drummers.
One of the most anticipated releases is the return of Starclassic Bubinga as a limited-edition drum kit. Bubinga is a dense and heavy wood known for its strong low end, high projection, and focused, dark tone. The 2026 version follows the same core construction principles as the original, with multi-ply shells and slightly deeper tom sizes to enhance low-frequency response and resonance. This makes the kit particularly relevant for louder musical settings such as rock and metal, where power and clarity are key.
At the more compact end of the spectrum, TAMA is releasing a limited Club-JAM kit with a double rack tom configuration. While the drum sizes are smaller than a standard setup, the familiar layout makes it easy to adapt for players who want a more portable kit without changing their playing approach. This configuration works well for home practice, teaching environments, and smaller live situations.
The 2026 snare drum lineup also brings several noteworthy additions. The limited Star Reserve G-Mahogany features an extra-thick shell designed to deliver a warm, controlled response with a strong fundamental tone. Alongside it is a new Mike Portnoy signature snare drum finished in the hand-painted “Dream Monster” design. Beyond the visual aspect, this snare offers practical flexibility through TAMA’s adjustable snare strainer system, allowing for quick changes in feel and response.
Hardware is another key focus area. The Spartan series returns in a modernized form, offering lightweight cymbal stands with an emphasis on fast setup, reduced transport weight, and reliable stability. In addition, the Iron Cobra 600 series expands with the Dark Shadow Edition, combining the familiar Iron Cobra feel with a textured matte black finish.
New accessory bags and mallet cases are also being introduced, designed to improve organization and transport for everyday use.
These products will become visible in our web store over the coming days. However, you are already welcome to contact us for pricing information and pre-orders. This may be especially relevant for limited-edition models, where availability is restricted and early demand is often high.
