Tama Star Reserve 14"x6½" - Satin Natural Tineo (SNT)

Product Description

The Star Reserve TGHS1465S-SNT is an exclusive, limited-edition snare drum from Tama with a G-Mahogany shell, built for a warm, full tone with reinforced low-end register. The extra-thick mahogany shell paired with a Super Sensitive snare wire set gives a clear, relatively dry snare sound that's ideal for delicate ghost notes.

Sound Character

The shell is 9mm thick and built from 11 plies of African Mahogany plus one outer ply of Tineo, giving the drum its warm, full tone with extra depth in the low register. The MLS50A/MLS50B snare mechanism controls a Super Sensitive hi-carbon steel snare wire set (MS20RL14C) with 20 strands, delivering a clear and relatively dry snare sound. Perfect for playing delicate ghost notes without losing attack.

Construction

To preserve the mahogany shell's open, resonant tone, the drum uses 2.3mm Mighty Hoops. Triple-flanged, pressed steel hoops with 10 lugs. The lugs themselves are the STAR MSL90TC model. The outer ply is Tineo, a wood known for its natural reddish-brown tone and rich vertical grain, giving the drum a refined, exclusive look in the Satin Natural Tineo (SNT) finish.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want a snare drum with real character: deep, warm low end combined with a dry, controlled snare response. Works especially well for players who play dynamically and want to shape everything from quiet ghost notes to full rimshots.
