Breakbeats by Questlove is a shell pack from Ludwig, developed together with Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson to deliver a real drum sound in a compact, easy-to-transport format. The kit is built around a 16"x14" bass drum on its own riser platform, and suits gigging in smaller venues as well as players who want a practical backup kit. Comes in Blue Sparkle.

Construction and Sound

The shells are made from 7-ply hardwood with 45-degree bearing edges. The toms are fitted with Remo Pinstripe Clear heads. Portable kits often compromise on sound, but Breakbeats delivers a genuine punch on the toms and a distinct, clear attack from the snare.

Dampening Storage Bags

A set of velvet storage bags is included. Besides protecting against dust and light scuffs, they can also stay on the drums as dampeners for gigs where volume needs to be kept down.

The drums are delivered as a shell pack, meaning the drums only (cymbals, pedal and hardware stands are not included). A bass drum riser is included. We recommend a flat base stand for this kit.
