Ludwig Breakbeats by Questlove - Red Sparkle

Product Description

Breakbeats by Questlove in Red Sparkle is a complete shell pack drum kit from Ludwig, designed together with Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson to be easy to transport without sacrificing sound. Compact sizing and thoughtful construction make it a great fit for the club gig, the rehearsal room or the apartment.

• 16x14" bass drum on its own riser for a stable playing feel
• 10x7" rack tom and 13x13" floor tom
• 14x5" snare drum
• Tom mount with a multi-clamp, for example for a cymbal arm
• Shells in 7-ply hardwood with 45-degree bearing edges
• Remo Pinstripe heads on the toms
• Velvet storage bags included

Sound and Feel

Portable kits can sometimes compromise on sound, but Breakbeats has a nice punch in the toms and the snare delivers distinct projection. The 7-ply hardwood shells with 45-degree bearing edges, together with the Remo Pinstripe heads on the toms, give a full drum sound despite the compact format.

Storage and Dampening

A set of velvet storage bags is included. They protect against dust and light scratches, but are also made to stay on the drums as dampeners when volume needs to be kept down, for example at a small-venue gig.

Delivery and Setup

The kit is delivered as a shell pack, meaning just the drums. Cymbals, pedal and stands are not included. The bass drum riser is included. We recommend a flat base stand for setup. The height is adjustable so the kit fits drummers of all ages and sizes.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want a real drum kit that fits in a car and is quick to set up, whether that's the rehearsal room, home, or a club stage.
