Product Description
The sE Electronics Z5600a II is a large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone built to handle almost any recording situation. With 9 selectable polar patterns stepping through omni, cardioid and figure eight, plus a bass cut filter and pad, it works equally well on vocals, drums or a choir.
The Z5600a II has earned its reputation above all as a vocal microphone, delivering superb recordings with natural warmth and incredible detail. The capsule is a hand-crafted true condenser with a 35mm twin gold/Mylar diaphragm, and the signal passes through a 12AX7/ECC83 tube before leaving the included power supply.
Polar Patterns and Controls
The polar pattern is selected on the power supply: omni, cardioid and figure eight, plus 5 intermediate stages between them, for 9 graded steps in total. The mic also features a 50 Hz bass cut filter and a -10 dB pre-attenuation pad for high sound pressure levels.
Delivery and Build
The Z5600a II comes in a wooden presentation case, cradled in a full aluminum flight case for transport. Included in delivery is a large shockmount and a brushed aluminum PSU with pattern switching and the necessary cables between mic and PSU.
