The Puresound Custom Pro Steel is a professional-grade snare wire set with steel strands, built for a tight snare sound and minimal sympathetic buzz even under high tension. A specially designed plate lets you tension the wires hard without choking the snare drum's bottom resonance – the result is a crisp, fast response and better control over your snare's character. The line comes in four model variants covering different sizes and strand counts, so you can match the set exactly to your snare drum.

Sound Character

The steel model delivers a crisp, fast response with good control over snare buzz – a good choice if you want a tighter, more defined snare sound than a softer wire set gives. The specially designed plate is the core of the construction: it allows higher tension on the wires without choking the snare drum's natural bottom resonance, which is otherwise a common trade-off when chasing a tighter response. If you'd rather have a brighter, more ringing tone, the Custom Pro line is also available in brass, though that's a separate model with a different tonal character.

Quick Changes with Speed Release Strap

The set ships with the Speed Release Strap quick-release system, making it quick and hassle-free to swap snare wires – handy if you play multiple styles and want to switch between different sets fast, or simply want to avoid fuss when it's time to replace a worn set.

Custom Pro Steel comes in four model variants to suit different snare drums and playing styles:
