Vater Extended Play is a hickory stick series built to last longer than standard sticks. A reinforced coating and a built-in shield inside the stick prevent breakage from rimshots, while balance and feel stay identical to Vater's regular models.

Construction

Development took 14 months, resulting in two unique features. The upper part of the stick has a pearl-coloured, specially developed coating that protects against wear and cracking. Midway down the stick sits the Stick Shield, a 3" reinforcement made from a material Vater states is eight times stronger than steel, designed to make the stick effectively impossible to break via rimshots.

The back of the stick has the same wood finish found on all Vater sticks, and this is a 5A hickory stick with a wood tip - the same optimal balance and feel as the standard models, just significantly more durable.

A good choice if you play hard, use a lot of rim clicks and rimshots, or simply want to stop replacing sticks so often.
