Vater Extended Play is a drumstick series built to outlast standard sticks. After 14 months of development, Vater created a construction that protects the stick against both wear and rim shot breakage. A good choice if you play hard and tend to wear out sticks early.

Stick Shield protects against rim shot breakage

At the center of the stick sits Vater's Stick Shield, a 3\" (76 mm) long protective zone made from a material eight times stronger than steel. This is exactly the area, the rim shot zone, where sticks usually break. With the Stick Shield in place, Vater guarantees the stick will never break there due to wear.

Extra protection at the top

The upper part of the stick, including the wood tip and shoulder, is coated with a specially developed pearl-colored finish that protects against wear and cracking. The coating only covers the upper part. The back of the stick has the same classic wood finish found on other Vater sticks, so the grip feels just as familiar.

Same balance, longer life

Despite the added protection, Vater has kept the same balance and feel as their standard hickory sticks. You don't have to trade playing feel for durability. You get both.
