16" Paiste Formula 602 Classic Sounds Thin Crash Cymbal

Product Description

Formula 602 Classic Sounds Thin Crash is a 16" crash cymbal in CuSn20 bronze (602-Bronze) from Paiste, hand-crafted by skilled Swiss cymbal makers according to the same principles used when the series launched in 1959. The sound is warm, full and precise with a clear vintage character, and the cymbal works equally well in the studio and live.

Sound Character

The tone is warm, full and controllable with a clear retro/vintage character. The strike sound is washy and the intensity fairly lively, while the cymbal feels sensitive and responsive under the stick. The integrated bell adds an extra layer to the sound.

Volume and Use

The thickness is thin and the volume sits in the Medium Low to Medium Loud range, which makes the cymbal especially suited to recording environments, though it also works live. It is extremely dynamic and suits jazz, fusion, blues, pop, rock, country, folk and acoustic music.

Who It's For

A cymbal for players who want a classic, delicate and controllable sound with real character rather than an aggressive crash. Suits players working at low to medium volume who value a nuanced response.
