How the low volume is achieved

Through extensive research and development, Zildjian created a specialized pattern on the cymbal surface that reduces volume without killing musicality. Using a sound level meter, tests showed an L80 cymbal to be up to 80% quieter than a traditional Zildjian cymbal, played with the same force.
