The Zildjian 5A Maple Wood Tip is a maple drumstick finished with Zildjian's own DIP® coating – a soft, tacky grip that keeps the stick secure in your hand even during long, sweaty sets. The coating also gives a desirable backweighting to the stick, something that's particularly noticeable on these lightweight maple models and makes fast passages easier to control.

Maple is a lighter alternative to hickory, producing darker tones on your instruments along with a softer feel on impact. If you're used to hickory but want something that feels familiar yet gives your playing a new character, these make a natural addition to your stick bag. The Maple DIP models get a double coating of the exclusive DIP grip, boosting the hold even further – ideal if you want maximum grip while keeping your hands relaxed.

The stick has a wood tip, giving a warmer, rounder attack on heads and cymbals compared with a nylon tip. The natural wood body with green DIP finish also means the butt end can double as an alternative playing surface on cymbals and drums, producing a different sound than the tip.
