K Custom cymbals are made following the same principles as the original K series, but the process has been developed further to enhance the cymbals' dry character, resulting in a sound that has broadened their use even more. The K Custom Dark series has dry, trashy overtones and a short decay. This Special Dry model builds on that with an innovative three-step hammering process, a distinctive shape, and an extra thin weight (Extra Thin to Thin).

Sound and Feel

The cymbal has a fast attack and shuts down quickly, with just enough sustain left. The sound is dry and trashy with a raw, dark character. The new hole pattern is added specifically to increase the trash effect even further. Larger crash cymbals in the range allow for louder volume with the same trashy overtones, and the Special Dry models, both the Trash Crash and Trash China, create a unique white noise sound that projects clearly through any live performance, making them the perfect cymbals for accents.

Construction

The cymbal is made from Zildjian's secret 80/20 bronze alloy. The bottom is fully lathed while the top has a raw natural finish, contributing to the trashy sound. The bell has an integrated bell sound that blends into the overall voice of the cymbal.
