18" Zildjian Planet Z Crash Cymbal

The Zildjian Planet Z 18" Crash Ride is a versatile brass cymbal with a bright, cutting tone and shorter sustain, made in the USA. It works equally well as a ride with defined stick articulation and as a crash with quick attack, making it a great choice if you want one cymbal that covers multiple roles in your setup.

Product Description

Planet Z is Zildjian's line for drummers looking for cutting, bright tones with a more controlled and focused sound and shorter sustain than many other cymbal lines. This 18" model is crafted from brass and functions as a crash/ride, meaning you can play ride patterns on it while it still crashes well for accents.

Sound Character

The tone is bright and cutting with good projection, while staying controlled and focused rather than open and washy. The shorter sustain keeps the sound tight and won't overwhelm the mix.

Construction

The cymbal is crafted from brass and carries a Medium Thin weight classification, which contributes to its flexible character between ride and crash. Like all Zildjian cymbals, Planet Z is proudly made in the USA.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want a single cymbal that handles both ride and crash duties, for example as a first cymbal in a kit or as a flexible addition to a smaller setup.
