Yamaha SS6

Product Description

The SS6 is Yamaha's single-braced snare stand in the 600 series, with a step-free tilter, new basket rubber that lets the snare resonate more freely, and an ergonomic basket adjustment knob. At 2.4 kg it is the lightest snare stand in the series.

• Step-free tilter for quick, precise angle setting
• New basket rubber (Tone-Enhancing Basket Rubber) for freer resonance
• Ergonomic basket adjustment knob with built-in metal washer
• Large rubber feet
• Refined wing nuts that reduce strain on the hands

Stepless angle adjustment

The tilter has no gear steps, so the basket angle can be set smoothly and precisely. You put the snare exactly where you like it instead of choosing the nearest notch.

More tone from the snare

The newly designed basket rubber uses an air pocket between the rubber and the arm and flexes under impact, reducing the vibrations transferred from the drum to the stand and letting the shell resonate more freely. According to Yamaha's frequency analysis, this gives increased low-frequency sustain compared with previous stand models.

Details you notice every day

The basket adjustment knob has an ergonomic grip and a built-in metal washer, allowing smooth tightening with minimal effort. Large rubber feet maximise grip, the leg base has a resin spacer for smooth, quiet movement, and the clamp base holds firmly without overtightening. The wing nuts have a refined shape that is easier on the hands.

Who It's For

For drummers who want a light stand with stepless angle adjustment. The SS6 replaces the SS650A in Yamaha's line-up.
