14"x5,5" Yamaha Yamaha SSS1455 - Chrome Steel
Product Description
The Yamaha SSS1455 is a chromed steel snare drum with a crisp, cutting attack – a solid, affordable workhorse for players who want reliable performance without overspending. The 1.0 mm chromed steel shell gives it a bright, slightly metallic edge that cuts through a mix, while Remo heads and a 20-strand snare wire keep the sound focused and controlled.
The shell uses one-piece lugs for consistent tension and stability all the way around the drum. A 1.5 mm triple flange hoop delivers fast rimshot response and holds tuning well, and a 45-degree bearing edge gives the drum an open, direct tone.
It's fitted with a Remo UT Coated Ambassador batter head and a Remo UT Snare Side Ambassador resonant head – a classic combination with a warm fundamental and clear attack. The snare wires are 20 strands of high carbon steel mounted on cord, connected via a B-9 type strainer with a DC type butt plate, and the snare bed is cut 1.8 mm deep for quick, consistent snare response.
Who It's For
A good choice if you want a snare with a tight, cutting character for rehearsal or studio use without a big price tag – and appreciate a steel shell that can take being moved around and played hard.
