The Yamaha RLS1470 is a steel snare drum, 14"x7", built for a distinct, crisp attack and fast response. The shell is 1.2 mm stainless steel, giving the drum a bright, open sound with strong projection.
The bearing edge is cut at 45 degrees for direct head contact and a sharp attack. The hoop is a 2.3 mm Dyna Hoop, and the lugs are One-piece for stable tuning. The center bead faces outward, and the snare bed is 2.4 mm.
The strainer side uses a Q-type snare mechanism with a DC3-type butt plate, and the snare wires are 25-strand (Regular) for controlled, well-defined snare response.
Heads
The drum ships with a Remo Coated Ambassador batter head and a Remo Snare Side Ambassador resonant head underneath. A classic, versatile combination.
