Yamaha Recording Custom Jazz - Real Wood

Product Description

Yamaha Recording Custom Jazz Set Real Wood is a drum set in the Recording Custom series, developed together with Steve Gadd. The set consists of 10", 12", 14" toms and an 18" bass drum, built in 100% birch 6-ply with the Real Wood finish.

Construction

The shells have a 30 degree / R1.5 bearing edge and newly designed heavy duty Hi-tension lugs of the One-piece type. The toms have hoops in 1.6mm steel of the Triple Flange Hoop type, while the bass drum has a wood hoop.

Heads

The toms are fitted with Remo US Coated Ambassador batter heads and Remo US Clear Ambassador resonant heads. The bass drum has a Remo Smooth White PS3 with Yamaha Logo resonant head and a Remo PS3 Coated batter head, or Remo Coated Ambassador on the version with an 18" bass drum.

Tuning

The set uses the Y.E.S.S. System, Yamaha's suspension mounting system for the toms. The shape of the bearing edges gives the set a broad tuning range. The toms respond well to different heads and are easy to tune.

Sound

The tone is described as refined and focused, with a rounder and deeper character. The stroke is punchy and well defined while unwanted overtones are reduced, and the tone is crisp and articulate with optimal sustain. The set suits all types of drumming in all situations.
