Sound and Construction

The shell is built as a hybrid construction, combining the naturally massive sound of oak with a phenolic center ply. The result is a drum with strength, depth and power. The Absolute single-post lug is designed to let the shell resonate as freely as possible, maximizing resonance and open tone. The staggered diagonal seams use the Air Seal system, keeping the shell consistent and strong while providing a wide tuning range. The hoop is a 2.3 mm DynaHoop, which contributes to a tighter sound and better tuning stability over time.

Look

The finish is a traditional, Japanese uzukuri finish that highlights the grain of the oak and gives the snare a unique, expressive look in Ice Sunburst. The dark chrome hardware reinforces the aggressive appearance for a dominating stage presence.

Who It's For

A snare for drummers who play in live-intensive settings and want a drum that cuts through the mix with powerful rimshots while retaining a dark, full-bodied fundamental tone. A great choice if you already know Yamaha's Live Custom series and want the deeper, more powerful sound that oak provides.
