Product Description
The Wave Drum 16" from Meinl Sonic Energy is a hand drum that recreates the sound of rolling ocean waves as steel balls move across the head. Handmade in India using traditional methods, it gives you a calming, meditative sound tool with two distinct tonal characters.
A small port lets you control how many of the steel balls stay inside the drum, so you can adjust the intensity of the wave sound yourself. The Wave Drum features two different heads. A natural goat skin head on one side and a synthetic head on the other. Letting you choose the character of the sound depending on which side you play.
Construction and materials
The shell is made from Siam Oak wood (Hevea brasiliensis Muell.-Arg.), a durable and resilient timber. The combination of natural goat skin and synthetic head gives the drum two distinct sound modes in one instrument.
