Product Description
The Tama S.L.P. Studio Maple is a mid-priced snare drum built to deliver the roundness and fine overtones normally found in great vintage snares, sized 14x6.5" with a maple shell.
The shell is a thin 5 mm, 6-ply maple laminate, reinforced with a Sound Focus Ring that supports the low end and adds stability to the tone. The hoops are also maple laminate, treated with urethane for better durability, helping the shell retain its warmth.
Sound
The result is a drum with roundness and the pleasing overtones usually found in fine examples of vintage snares. Unlike most vintage snares, the Studio Maple is easy to tune and has a reliable MSL50 strainer.
