Tama SLP LST1455H Vintage Hammered Steel - Matte Chrome

Product Description

The Tama SLP LST1455H Vintage Hammered Steel is a snare drum with a 1.2mm hammered steel shell, built for players who want extra depth and dryness without losing a crisp, articulate snare response. The hammering process adds tonal complexity to TAMA's characteristically bright and penetrating steel shell sound, as sound waves reflect asymmetrically off the textured surface. Sound Arc Hoops add stability on rim shots, giving the drum a playing feel closer to a heavier brass shell snare, and make it a reliable all-round choice for both quiet and loud musical settings.

• 1.2mm Hammered Steel Shell with matte chrome finish
• Sound Arc Hoops (10-hole) for stable rim shots and increased sensitivity
• Brass Tube Lugs
• MCS70A/MCS70B snare strainer mechanism
• 20-strand Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Steel Snare Wire (Starclassic MS20RL14C) for a crisp, sensitive response

Tone and Feel

The hammered shell texture adds tonal complexity, depth, and dryness compared to a smooth steel shell, as sound waves reflect asymmetrically off the surface. The redesigned Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Snare Wire uses new materials, a customized plate shape, and a revised coil winding pattern so the wires sit more closely against the snare side head, delivering greater sensitivity and a brighter, crisper sound. The Sound Arc Hoops are inspired by the "stick saver hoops" found on select vintage snare drums, their inward-bent edges enhancing the drum's natural tone while offering increased sensitivity, precision, and control.

Who It's For

A solid all-round choice for drummers who want a steel snare with a bit more character than a smooth steel shell, at home in both soft and loud musical settings.
