The Vic Firth VKB3 VicKick is a large, plush bass drum beater with an oval medium felt core wrapped in thick fleece. The combination delivers an incredibly soft attack and a warm, forgiving low-end sound – a great choice if you want to experiment with different bass drum tones.

The shaft is made from high-quality metal, and the beater fits all bass drum pedals on the market regardless of brand. Within the VicKick line, felt and wood beaters feature a unique dual striking position: the "radial" setting provides clear articulation, consistent rebound, and side-by-side clearance on double pedal setups, while the "flat" position increases surface contact with the head for a fuller sound. The VKB3's oval felt core is set in a single position, prioritizing sound quality and softness over adjustable articulation. As Vic Firth's Neil Larrivee has put it, VicKick beaters were designed with sound quality as the top priority.
