Product Description
The Vic Firth T1 American Custom Timpani General is a pair of timpani mallets with maple handles and felt heads, built for a warm, controlled sound. The soft surface and medium-hard core make it a flexible choice, from a whisper-quiet pianissimo to a powerful fortissimo.
The handle is turned from fine maple with high precision, and the felt head is shaped to give a clear yet warm attack on timpani. While designed primarily for timpani, it also works well on cymbals, tom-toms and in regular drum set playing.
Sound Character
The soft surface combined with the medium-hard core makes the T1 particularly useful for cymbal swells – you can start almost silently and build all the way up to full FF without losing control of the stroke.
