Vic Firth SD1 American Custom General
Product Description
The Vic Firth SD1 American Custom® General is a classic maple drumstick with a round wooden tip. It's a natural choice for orchestral playing and snare technique practice, but it also holds up well for marching if you want a sturdy stick that doesn't feel heavy in the hand.
Turned from select maple, the SD1 is lighter than many hickory sticks while keeping a beefier feel — great if you want power in the stroke without the extra weight. The short taper gives quick response and lively rebound, making it just as useful in the practice room as on stage or in the concert hall.
SD1 belongs to the American Custom line, where all eleven models are turned from select rock maple for a light, fast-playing stick with great flex and rebound. The line covers everything from popular kit sticks to classic orchestral models and lighter marching sticks, all crafted from top-grade wood and carefully checked to meet the highest international standard.
Vic Firth, founded by drummer and educator Everett “Vic” Firth in 1963, was the first manufacturer to apply a round striking surface to drumstick design and has since become one of the most trusted names in sticks, brushes, rods, and mallets.
