Product Description

The Vic Firth Split Brush SB is a wire brush with bristles arranged in two different row lengths, designed together with German drummer Florian Alexandru-Zorn. The two-tiered design gives you a distinct sound for playing beats and a softer feel for traditional brush playing.

The brush features two separate rows of medium gauge wire: one row of normal length and one shorter row. This layered design produces a unique and varied weighting of sound with different qualities of articulation, letting you move between clear, defined patterns and a classic sweeping brush sound.

Adjustable spread

The retractable pull-rod includes a triple-crimp design that gives enhanced setting capability, so you can choose the spread of the brush and keep it locked in place during play. Bristle spread is 11.43 cm (114.3 mm), and the handle has a rubber grip.

Florian Alexandru-Zorn is a full-time instructor, musician and author specializing in brush playing, world music and jazz, known for his performances at festivals such as PASIC and the Montreal Drum Festival, and for his instructional DVD "The Brush Revolution".
