Product Description

The Vic Firth MJC2 Modern Jazz 2 is an easy-playing hickory stick with a slightly thinner diameter than a 5A, an extra-long taper, and a pointed, elongated arrow tip. Together these give the stick a unique rebound and a fantastically rich, complex ride sound – built for jazz but genuinely versatile across most musical settings.

Feel and Sound

The thinner diameter and long taper make the stick light in hand with a very responsive rebound. The elongated arrow tip offers a broad surface area against the cymbal, helping you pull more sound and complex overtones out of your cymbals with every stroke.

The Modern Jazz Collection

The MJC2 is part of Vic Firth's Modern Jazz Collection, developed together with drummers including Jeff Ballard, Greg Hutchinson, Joe McCarthy and Lewis Nash. According to Vic Firth's Neil Larrivee, these models were staples in the company's back room for years before being released to the public, and while the name says "Modern Jazz", they work exceptionally well in almost any musical setting. Each stick is made from carefully selected hickory under strict quality control.

Vic Firth was founded by Everett "Vic" Firth in 1963 and has long been regarded as one of the most trusted names in drumsticks, offering everything from hickory sticks for drum set to maple models, marching sticks, brushes, rods and mallets.
