Product Description
Vic Firth's BCS1 cymbal mallets are purpose-built for playing suspended cymbals, with soft, yarn wound heads in red designed to sneak a crescendo up on a cymbal. Crafted in maple, they deliver a massive, full sound that works equally well in a symphony orchestra or a concert band.
Named after the German word for cymbal, these mallets are made specifically for coaxing dark, low partials out of big cymbals without adding excessive weight. The turned maple handle gives a controlled feel as you build dynamics from a whisper to a roar.
Construction
The head is yarn wound, roughly 45 mm in diameter, mounted on a maple handle measuring 393.7 mm (39.37 cm) in length with a 12 mm shaft diameter. The hardness is rated Soft, giving the softness needed to ease into a crescendo without a harsh attack.
