Vic Firth Anders Åstrand M301 Medium Soft - Blue

Product Description

The Anders Åstrand M301 is a marimba mallet designed by percussionist Anders Åstrand, with a wound yarn head and a rattan shaft. The blue series is slightly heavier than Anders' orange-head models and works excellently for marimba playing, producing a full sound that lets the fundamental speak clearly even in solo performances.

These mallets are made by Vic Firth with carefully selected materials and a high level of manufacturing precision. The round, wound-yarn head in Medium Soft hardness gives an incredibly full sound across a wide range of the marimba. A great fit when you need the instrument's fundamental to come through clearly, such as in solo playing.

Construction

The shaft is made of rattan, and the head is round and wound with yarn. The yarn is blue, distinguishing this series from Anders Åstrand's lighter, orange-head models.

Who It's For

A great choice for marimba players who want a full, singing sound with a clear fundamental, whether in an ensemble or solo setting. Sold in pairs.
