Product Description
The M304 is a keyboard mallet for marimba, xylophone and vibraphone, designed by percussionist Anders Åstrand together with Vic Firth. It belongs to the Blue series, slightly heavier than the Orange series, offering a full sound with a brighter articulation. A great choice for chamber settings where the sound needs to project clearly.
As a performer and clinician, Vic Firth artist Anders Åstrand has shared his unique sense of melodic and rhythmic exploration with audiences around the globe. As a composer, his work with brass quintets, choirs, and big bands has helped to inform his own playing. This compositional mindset. Knowing when voices need to blend and when they need to shine. Set the tone for the two series (Orange/Blue) of mallets Anders created with Vic Firth.
Construction
The handle is made of rattan, and the head is wound with cord in a round shape, giving the mallet its full yet clearly defined sound. The hardness rating is Hard, one step harder than the M303, resulting in a brighter articulation and more definition on attack.
Who It's For
