Vic Firth's Terra series puts the spotlight on the wood itself. A patented staining process brings out the natural grain in the American hickory shaft, so no two pairs look quite the same. The sticks are made at Vic Firth's factory in Newport, Maine, with the same tight quality control used across the American Classic line.
The 5AT keeps the familiar 5A shape and taper but swaps in a Tear Drop wood tip instead of nylon, giving a slightly fuller, warmer attack on heads and cymbals. The staining process leaves a smooth, soft surface without sacrificing grip, so the stick still feels natural in the hand through long sets.
