The Vic Firth AH5B American Heritage 5B is a maple drumstick built to the dimensional specifications of the popular American Classic 5B, but crafted in maple instead of hickory. The result is a lighter, airier feel with a softer attack, ideal when you want to keep the volume down without losing feel.
The American Heritage series takes Vic Firth's best-selling American Classic models and crafts them in maple rather than hickory. Maple offers greater rebound and flex, giving drummers the feel of their favorite American Classic model but with a lighter, more \"airy\" sound, especially noticeable on cymbals.
Feel and Sound
With a medium taper and a maple wood tear drop tip, the AH5B delivers a substantial stick that still produces a sweeter, softer cymbal sound. This approach lets drummers change their sound and color without changing feel and balance.
