Vic Firth 8DN
Product Description
The Vic Firth American Classic 8DN is a nylon tip drumstick that gives you the grip and feel of a 7A, combined with the length and reach of a 5A or 5B. The nylon tip produces a clearer, more defined ride sound and extra punch on snare and toms compared to a wood tip, while lasting longer.
The 8DN is essentially an 8D with a nylon tip instead of wood. The result is a stick that feels extremely slim and light in the hand — almost like an "Extreme 7A" — without sacrificing reach or balance. A great option if you want thin sticks but still need clarity and punch when reaching across the kit.
About the American Classic Series
The American Classic line combines tradition and Vic Firth style, turned from select hickory — a dense wood with little flex for a more pronounced sound. Hickory can also withstand a great deal of shock, making it highly durable. The tips are deeply back-cut for intensified cymbal response, and the series covers all the classic, best-selling models drummers rely on.
Vic Firth
Vic Firth, born Everett Firth, started making drumsticks in 1963. Since then, his sticks have been considered among the finest by drummers worldwide, with a range spanning hickory sticks for kit playing, maple models, marching sticks, brushes, rods, and mallets for nearly every instrument imaginable.
