The Vic Firth American Classic 5A Vic Grip is a standard 5A in hickory with one key addition: the grip area is coated with a thin layer of rubber material, Vic Grip, that gives you a noticeably firmer hold on the stick. It's a real help if your hands get sweaty or you just play hard.

Apart from the coating, this model is identical to a regular American Classic 5A. It's turned from select American hickory, a dense wood with little flex that gives a pronounced sound while also standing up well to shock and wear. The tear drop wood tip is deeply back-cut for a clear, intensified cymbal response, and the taper is medium.

A solid choice for drummers who play long or hard sets and don't want to worry about a stick slipping out mid-fill, whether that's in the rehearsal room, on stage or in the studio.
