The Vintage Bomber is a bass drum beater built around a cork core wrapped in soft, puffy synthetic material. It delivers a soft yet boomy jazz tone and suits players who want a rounded attack without any hard click.
The beater was developed together with Otis Brown III, drummer for jazz legend Joe Lovano, aiming for the look, feel and sound of the original lambswool beaters from decades past. The cork core gives rebound and control, while the puffy outer material softens the attack just enough to give the bass drum warmth and body instead of a sharp strike.
A good choice if you play jazz or other acoustic music where the bass drum should sit as a full, soft pulse under the groove rather than a pronounced attack.
