Jay Weinberg designed the 908 by drawing on the best qualities from the various Vater models he's used over the years. The stick has just over 6 mm of extra length compared to a standard 5A/5B, giving slightly better reach around the kit. The short neck moves the balance point forward for extra power on impact, while the medium-sized tip gives a clearly defined response on the ride cymbal without losing volume.
