Vater Extended Play 5B - Nylon Tip

Product Description

Vater Extended Play 5B with nylon tip is a hickory drumstick built to outlast standard sticks. A reinforced coating and a built-in shield at the stick's midpoint make it resistant to both wear and rimshot breakage, without changing the feel in your hands.

• Durable, pearl-finish coating on tip and shoulder that protects against wear and cracking
• 3-inch Stick Shield at the midpoint, made from a material Vater states is 8 times stronger than steel
• Specifically protects the area where rimshots normally cause the most wear
• Same balance and feel as Vater's standard hickory sticks
• Guaranteed against breakage due to wear in the area covered by the Stick Shield

Construction and durability

Vater spent 14 months developing the Extended Play series, and the result is a stick engineered not to snap in the middle. The upper part of the stick, from tip to shoulder, carries a specially developed coating that shields it from wear and cracks. At the stick's midpoint sits the Stick Shield, a 3-inch section made from a material Vater states is eight times stronger than steel. That's exactly the area that normally takes the most punishment from rimshots, and Vater guarantees the stick against breakage due to wear in that protected area.

Feel and balance

The back of the stick has the same wood finish found on other Vater models, and you get the same balance and playing feel as their standard hickory sticks. The difference isn't in how it feels, it's in how long it lasts.

Who It's For

Extended Play 5B with nylon tip suits drummers who play a lot, hit hard, or use rimshots often, and who'd rather not replace sticks as frequently as with a standard model.
