Underground EZX

Product Description

Underground EZX is a drum expansion from Toontrack for EZdrummer 3 and Superior Drummer 3, built on four unique drum kits recorded in a small basement studio in Stockholm. The sound is raw, unpolished and rooted in punk, hardcore, black metal, indie, psychedelic rock and kraut from the early '90s to today. Ideal if you want a loud, decadent sound that's far from polished.

The kits were recorded by Refused drummer David Sandström together with engineer/producer/mixer Martin "Konie" Ehrencrona at Studio Cobra, a small, low-ceiling basement studio in the heart of Stockholm packed with tape machines, old tube gear and vintage instruments. "Konie" has produced his signature analog sound for artists like Viagra Boys, Tribulation and Watain. The kits are drawn from David's own drums, the studio's collection and instruments borrowed from bands and friends on the Stockholm scene. Four distinctly unique kits, each with its own sound and vibe, put through the paces on everything from big festival stages to underground clubs and albums across many styles.

Presets, grooves and fills

Alongside the four kits, a selection of mix-ready presets is included, one for each kit, engineered by "Konie". The presets range from bare and raw to distorted, menacing and wild. A basic collection of grooves and fills performed by David Sandström is also included, giving you a foundation of his hard-hitting drumming style to build from.

Who It's For

Underground EZX is for you if you're writing post-punk with a lo-fi feel, or want a raw, distorted, organic sound for kraut, metal, hardcore or garage rock. Want grit? This is the definition of it.
