Product Description
The Tama Superstar Classic CL50R-TLB is a 5-piece drum set built in 100% maple with a Tangerine Lacquer Burst finish. The set ships complete with a Stagemaster hardware pack and is ready to set up and play right away.
- Resonant maple shells with Star-Cast Mounting System for free shell vibration
- Omnisphere tom holder on the bass drum with Tama's classic L-arm
- Low Mass Lugs in classic Tama design
- Protected claw hooks with rubber spacers on the bass drum
- Complete hardware pack included. Ready to play out of the box
Sizes
The core kit consists of five drums: 20"x16" bass drum, 10"x7" and 12"x8" mounted toms, a 14"x14" floor tom, and a 14"x5" snare drum.
Construction
The toms and snare are built from 6-ply maple laminate, 5 mm, while the bass drum has a sturdier 8-ply maple laminate shell, 7 mm. The Star-Cast Mounting System lifts the tom holder away from the shell's vibration zone, letting the toms resonate freely for a fuller tone. The Omnisphere tom holder on the bass drum offers excellent adjustability and stable mounting for the toms, and the classic Low Mass Lugs give the kit its recognizable Tama look. The bass drum's claw hooks feature protective rubber spacers.
Heritage
For over 40 years Tama has been at the forefront of drum innovation with designs like the Iron Cobra and Starclassic. The Superstar Classic series ties back to the legendary Superstar kits of the 70s, sharing the same T-logo and similar lug design, while building on modern construction such as the Star-Cast Mounting System. The stock heads are decent, but the sound potential of the shells means many players choose to upgrade the heads later to unlock the kit's full tone.
Hardware Pack
The set ships with a complete Stagemaster SM5W hardware pack: an Iron Cobra hi-hat stand (HH205), an Iron Cobra bass drum pedal (HP200P), two boom cymbal stands (HC43BW), a snare stand (HS40W), and a double tom holder for the mounted toms. All stand legs are double-braced for stability.
Who It's For
A great choice for players who want a complete, ready-to-play drum set with genuine Tama heritage, without having to buy hardware separately.
