Looking to refresh an old drum kit or build a drum from scratch? Wrap material is an easy way to change the look of a shell without touching the shell itself. It's easy to cut to size and fits most drum diameters.

The wrap is sold by the roll, and each sheet measures 100 x 300 cm - enough for several drums or a whole kit depending on size. The thickness is approximately 0.5 mm, sturdy enough to stay looking good for a long time without adding bulk around the hoops.

Each sheet has a protective plastic film on top to keep it clean during transit. On rare occasions the film can be a little dirty and the edges not perfectly straight - something the manufacturer compensates for by always including a bit of extra material on the roll, while keeping the price low.

This listing is for the black colourway, but the wrap is available in six colours in total, four of them metallic finishes.

Our Tips

• Remove all hardware, and ideally any old wrap, before you start.
• Cut a piece about 5 mm narrower than the width of the drum so the wrap doesn't reach all the way to the hoop.
• Attach the wrap with double-sided tape - this has the least effect on the drum's resonance. If you'd rather glue it, a spray adhesive such as 3M Display Mount works well.
• Drill holes for the hardware and screw it back on - done.
