Sound Character

Dry drums do not hide behind ambience. They breathe and speak with raw, unfiltered closeness, as if positioned right at the edge of your ear. Dry EZX delivers dampened, punchy and completely dry, yet still alive, drum sounds. With four carefully selected kits, it spans a broad sonic spectrum, from earthy and warm to snappy and lightly pingy.

The kits were recorded in a small room with a low ceiling and thick drapes along the walls, keeping ambience down to an absolute minimum. The result is a collection of visceral, tight kits that sound as if you are standing right there in the room, just inches from the drums.

Construction and Recording

A standout detail is that two drummers for selected kits sat facing each other and played their own kick, snare, toms and hi-hat simultaneously across every velocity layer. The natural flams and organic imperfections this created give a rich, layered sound, perfect for adding subtle but extra variation to your grooves.

Beyond the drums, a collection of mix-ready presets is included for every kit, along with a library of basic backbeat-focused grooves, so you can get started right away on your way to the next song.
