Meinl Percussion Travel Series Rope Tuned Djembe 8" - Pharaoh's Script

Product Description

The Meinl Travel Series Rope Tuned Djembe 8" is a lightweight djembe with a synthetic shell and a playing head of selected goat skin. The rope tuning lets you adjust the pitch by hand without tools, and the compact size makes it easy to bring along to rehearsals, jams or on the road.

• 100% synthetic shell, notably lighter than a wooden shell
• Playing head of selected goat skin
• Rope tuned. Fine-tune the pitch by hand
• Replaceable head (Head-98) if the head ever needs replacing
• Finish in the symbolic Pharaoh's Script pattern
• Compact size, 8" diameter and 16" height. Easy to carry

Construction and care

The synthetic shell makes this Travel Series djembe noticeably lighter than traditional wooden-shell djembes, while the rope tuning gives you full control over the pitch. The head is replaceable (Head-98 model) should it ever wear out or need replacing, making this a long-term instrument rather than a disposable one.

Who It's For

A great choice if you want a real djembe without the weight and fragility of a wooden shell. For example for travel, outdoor playing, or whenever the drum needs to move often between rehearsal space and gigs.
