Meinl Percussion Tamborim 6"
Tamborim 6" in ABS with Meinl's Floatune system for a high, stable tuning.
Product Description
The Meinl Tamborim 6" is a Brazilian hand drum with an affordable ABS shell, built for a high and stable tuning. The patented Floatune tuning system lets you get the head tensioned exactly where you want it, without losing tuning during play.
The tamborim is a key instrument in samba, typically played with a stick or hand for fast, distinct rhythmic patterns. This ABS version is more budget-friendly than the Chrome or Aluminum options, while still benefiting from the same tuning stability the Floatune system provides.
Tuning system
Floatune is Meinl's own patented tamborim tuning solution. It keeps the head evenly tensioned around the entire hoop, helping the drum hold its tuning better over time compared to traditional tension rod systems.
Other versions
Besides ABS, this tamborim is also available with a Chrome or a lightweight Aluminum shell, for players who want a different look or feel in the hand. A matching gig bag is available as an accessory for protecting and transporting the tamborim.
