Product Description
The Tama HP50 from The Classic Series is a light, easy-playing, compact bass drum pedal with unusually wide adjustment options. Thanks to the height-adjustable beater shaft, you can shift the beater's strike point without shortening the beater itself – giving you full power and a good strike point even on smaller bass drums.
The Classic Series was developed under a "less is more" philosophy, in collaboration with Peter Erskine. That same idea runs through the pedal: full adjustability packed into a light, compact design that's easy to set up and easy to bring along.
Adjustment and feel
The Center Braced Tripod Base allows you to height-adjust the beater shaft assembly (Center Strike Height Adjust) to optimize the beater's strike point – especially useful on smaller bass drums where the striking area can otherwise be hard to reach with full power. The footboard angle and beater angle can also be adjusted independently of each other, so you can fine-tune the feel to your own playing.
Beater and footboard
The Classic Beater is a light felt beater with a tapered head, mounted on a pedal with a Smooth Surface Footboard for an even gliding feel. The hoop is held in place with an Easy-Tight Hoop Clamp that locks and releases quickly.
Who It's For
A good choice if you want a pedal that's easy to travel with but still gives you full control over strike point and feel – whether your bass drum is large or small.
