Tama Superstar Classic - Midnight Gold Sparkle Set of 3

Product Description

The Tama Superstar Classic is a 3-piece shell pack built with 100% maple shells and a classic Midnight Gold Sparkle finish. It carries the legendary T-logo and a design that echoes the 70s Superstar series, now updated with the modern Star-Cast Mounting System for free resonance and full tone. A great option if you want genuine maple tone at an affordable price point.

• 100% maple shells for a warm, open sound
• Star-Cast Mounting System lets the toms resonate freely
• Low Mass Lugs with classic Tama design
• Bass drum claw hooks with protective rubber spacers
• MC69 single tom mount adapter included

Construction

The rack tom (12"x8") and floor tom (16"x16") feature 6-ply maple laminate shells at 5 mm, while the bass drum (22"x14") is built from 8-ply maple laminate at 7 mm. The Star-Cast Mounting System attaches the toms without choking shell resonance, letting them deliver full tone even at this price point. The small Low Mass Lugs carry the same look as the original 70s Superstar series, and the bass drum's claw hooks include protective rubber spacers.

Heads and upgrade potential

The kit ships with factory-fitted heads that sound good right out of the box, but don't quite unlock the shells' full sound potential. Swap the heads down the line and the kit's tone opens up further. The shells have more to give.

Hardware

Hardware is not included in the shell pack. Tama recommends the HC4FB stand paired with the HP50, or alternatively the complete Stage Master SM5W hardware package.

Who It's For

A good fit if you want real maple tone and classic Tama feel without paying flagship prices, and don't mind sourcing your own stands and heads.
