Tama Superstar Classic MA - Gloss Lacebark Pine Fade Set of 7

Product Description

The Tama Superstar Classic MA is a 7-piece shell pack built from 100% maple shells, here finished in the striking limited-edition Gloss Lacebark Pine Fade. The kit uses Tama's classic Star-Cast mounting system, letting the toms vibrate freely for full tone, giving you a solid foundation to build your drum set around.

Superstar Classic takes its design cues from the legendary Superstar series of the 1970s, with the classic T-logo and a similar lug design. Tama has been at the forefront of drum innovation for over 40 years with long-lasting products like the Iron Cobra and Starclassic, and that same quality mindset carries through here. Don't be fooled by the affordable price. Superstar Classic stands on its own sonic merits.

Construction

The toms and snare drum feature 6-ply maple laminate shells, 5 mm thick. The bass drum is built from 8-ply maple laminate, 7 mm thick, for extra rigidity. The Star-Cast Mounting System lets the toms resonate freely without being dampened by the mounting hardware, resulting in a fuller, more open tone. The bass drum carries a double tom holder of the Omnisphere Tomholder type, with Tama's classic Omnisphere L-arm for excellent adjustability and stability. The lugs are Low Mass Lugs. Small lugs in Tama's classic design. The bass drum's claw hooks feature protective rubber spacers to safeguard the finish.

What's Included

The kit includes an MTH600 double tom holder and an MC69 single tom holder. Note that a stand is not included. Tama recommends the SM5W stand package for this kit.

Heads

The stock heads perform well but don't quite match the shells' full sonic potential. When it's time to replace them, you can expect the kit's sound to open up even further.

Who It's For

A great choice if you want a drum set with genuine all-maple construction and thoughtfully designed hardware, without paying flagship prices. And if you'd like a set with a bit of extra visual flair thanks to the Gloss Lacebark Pine Fade finish.
