Tama Superstar Classic - Gloss Natural Blonde

Product Description

The Tama Superstar Classic is a 3-piece shell kit in 100% maple with a Gloss Natural Blonde finish, built to deliver full sound despite its budget-friendly price. The kit includes a bass drum, rack tom, and floor tom and suits players who want classic drum character with modern construction.

Superstar Classic ties back to Tama's heritage from the legendary Superstar series of the 70s, sharing the same T logo and a similar lug design to the original. The shells are modern, though: the toms hang in the Star-Cast Mounting System, a suspension that lets the drum vibrate freely and deliver full tone without being choked by the mount.

Construction

The rack tom and floor tom are built from 6-ply maple laminate, 5 mm, while the bass drum has a heavier 8-ply maple laminate shell at 7 mm. The lugs (Low Mass Lugs) are small and light with a classic Tama design, and the bass drum's claw hooks feature protective rubber spacers.

What's Included

The kit comes with an MC69 single tom mount for mounting the rack tom. The factory-fitted heads do the job, but don't quite match the shells' full sound potential. Upgrading them later takes the sound even further.

Hardware

Hardware is not included with the shell kit. Tama recommends the HC4FB plus HP50 hardware package (two cymbal stands, a snare stand and a hi-hat stand, all double-braced), or alternatively the Stage Master SM5W hardware package.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want to build your own set around shells with genuine maple character, without paying for unnecessary brand premium. And you're ready to invest in your own heads and hardware to taste.
