Tama Superstar Classic - Dark Red Sparkle

Product Description

The Tama Superstar Classic is a 3-piece shell pack in maple shells finished in Dark Red Sparkle. The set carries the look and heritage of the legendary 1970s Superstar series, with the same T-logo and lug design, but adds modern Star-Cast mounting so the toms can ring out fully and freely.

For over 40 years Tama has led the way with innovations like Iron Cobra and Starclassic, and the Superstar Classic borrows both the appearance and attitude of that classic original. Despite the affordable price, the kit stands on its own sonic merits thanks to solid shells and thoughtful construction.

Construction

The shells are built from 100% maple. Toms and snare in 6-ply maple laminate, 5 mm, and the bass drum in 8-ply maple laminate, 7 mm. The Star-Cast Mounting System keeps the toms free from shell-dampening contact points for optimal sound. Low Mass Lugs give the kit its classic Tama look, and the bass drum's claw hooks feature rubber spacers that protect the hoop.

What's included

The shell pack includes a 22"x14" bass drum, a 12"x8" hanging tom and a 16"x16" floor tom, plus an MC69 single tom mount adapter for mounting the hanging tom. Hardware is not included. The recommended hardware packs are HC4FB plus HP50, or alternatively the Stage Master SM5W.

Heads

The stock heads are perfectly usable, but don't quite match the shells' sound potential. Upgrade to premium heads when it's time for a change, and the kit's tone will open up even further.
