Tama Superstar Classic CL52KRSP-GHP - Gloss Sapphire Lacebark Pine Set of 5

Product Description

The Tama Superstar Classic CL52KRSP-GHP is a complete 5-piece drum kit built entirely from maple, featuring the same Star-Cast mounting system that lets the toms vibrate freely for full, open tone. The kit comes in Gloss Sapphire Lacebark Pine finish and suits players who want strong sound potential without overpaying.

• Thin, resonant 100% maple shells for open, full tone
• Star-Cast Mounting System lets the toms vibrate freely
• Omnisphere tom holder with L-arm for stable, precise positioning
• Low Mass Lugs in classic Tama styling
• Claw hooks with rubber spacers protect the bass drum

Construction

The mounted toms (10"x7", 12"x8") and snare drum (14"x6.5") are built from 6-ply maple laminate, 5 mm thick. The floor tom (16"x14") shares the same construction. The bass drum (22"x16") uses a slightly thicker 8-ply maple laminate shell, 7 mm, for extra low-end punch. The shells are thin and resonant rather than over-built, giving the toms room to vibrate freely thanks to the Star-Cast mounting.

Hardware and details

The bass drum has a double tom holder with Tama's classic Omnisphere L-arm, giving good adjustability and stability for the mounted toms without a separate tom stand. The lugs are Tama's Low Mass Lugs, styled after the original 70s Superstar series. As is the classic T-logo. The bass drum's claw hooks have protective rubber spacers to help keep tuning stable.

The stock heads are perfectly fine, but don't quite match the kit's sound potential. Swap heads later on to get even more out of the tone.

What's included

The kit ships with a 22"x16" bass drum, 10"x7" and 12"x8" mounted toms, a 16"x14" floor tom, and a 14"x6.5" snare drum, including a double tom holder for the bass drum. Stands are not included. Tama recommends the SM5W hardware pack (2 boom cymbal stands, snare stand, hi-hat stand, and bass drum pedal).

Who it's for

A good choice if you want a full-size, resonant maple kit at an affordable price and don't mind upgrading the heads down the line to unlock more of the tone.
