Tama Starphonic Aluminium

Product Description

The Tama Starphonic Aluminium PAL146 is a 14x6" snare drum with a crisp, open, bright sound and a wealth of complex overtones. It fits right into any musical style and is built for players who settle for nothing less than the best.

The drum delivers extremely good snare response and a wonderfully warm bottom end. The PAL146 has superb control over the overtones without becoming lifelessly clean. Tuned high, it turns super funky with dry, relatively low-volume rimshots, right in line with JB's tone ideal. A unique trait is that snare response and ghost notes are retained even when the drum is tuned high.

Flexible across tunings

The snare also excels in other tunings. Add a dampening ring and tune it low, and the PAL146 becomes a dark, deep snare with ballad ambitions.
