Tama Starclassic Walnut/Birch WBR32RZS-ROY - Jade Silk

Product Description

Starclassic Walnut/Birch is Tama's hybrid kit, combining birch and walnut in the shells to deliver both a big fundamental tone and a solid low end. This 3-piece shell pack in Jade Silk finish suits players who want a clear, focused sound that's easy to tune, whether you run high-tuned single-ply heads or low-tuned, fat double-ply heads.

• Big fundamental tone and solid low end thanks to the birch/walnut shell combination
• Easy-to-tune construction that works for both high and low tunings
• Star-Cast Mounting for free-ringing toms and flexible positioning
• Quick-Lock tom and leg brackets with quick release that also work as a memory lock
• Die-Cast Hoops for a focused sound and easy tuning
• Cast claw hooks with rubber spacers on the bass drum

Construction

The rack tom and floor tom have a 6 mm shell built from 4 plies of birch with 2 inner plies of Black Walnut. The bass drum and snare drum in the same series have an 8 mm shell with 5 plies of birch and 2 inner plies of American Black Walnut. The Die-Cast Hoops give a focused sound and make the kit easy to tune. The floor toms sit on Cushioned Floor Tom Legs with an air pocket that preserves resonance instead of choking it against the floor.

Mounting and hardware

Star-Cast Mounting gives a slimmed-down tom suspension that keeps the toms free from the shell for better sound while still being easy to position. The floor tom legs sit in Quick-Lock brackets with quick release that double as a memory lock, so you can return to the exact same angle every time. The bass drum's claw hooks are cast and fitted with protective rubber spacers that hold the hoop in place without damaging the finish.

Heads

The kit ships with Evans heads fitted: G2 Clear as batter heads on the toms and EQ4 as the batter head on the bass drum.

Included in delivery

The pack consists of three shells: a 22"x16" bass drum, a 12"x8" rack tom and a 16"x16" floor tom, plus an MC69 Single Tom Attachment for mounting the rack tom.

Who It's For

A great choice if you want an all-around kit with a clear, easy-to-tune sound and well-thought-out hardware details, no matter the musical style.
